Bio-Diversity:

Biodiversity refers to degree of variation of life forms or biotic elements within a given ecosystem. Biodiversity is an index of the health of ecosystems. Greater biodiversity implies greater health. Biodiversity of any region is the manifestation of its climate, besides the other influencing factors Biological diversity" or "biodiversity is a comprehensive term, which can have different meanings for practitioners from different field. Biologists define bio-diversity as the "totality of genes, species, and ecosystems of a region".

Importance:

Biodiversity plays crucial role in determining the structure of the ecosystems and habitats that support essential Irving resources. It helps addressing basic human needs such as food, shelter, and medicine. It composes ecosystems that maintain oxygen in the air, purify the water, enrich the soil, regulate climate and protect against flood and storm damage. Its recreational, cultural, spiritual and aesthetic importance is no less important.
